Ride Guide: Magic Kingdom

Hello again,

I hope my new Ride Guide series will be helpful to families who are heading to Disney World for the first time as well as bring back some memories for families going for their hundredth time! Here I will separate the rides into different categories, rate them 1 being the best and go down so on and so forth, and give a short explanation of what each ride is like. For the first installment of Ride Guide, I will be focusing on the Magic Kingdom!

Top Ten Must Do's

1. Philharmagic- Personally this is my favorite thing to do in Disney World. This is a truly magical video and music show that immerses you into many Disney movies. Perfect for all ages and packed full of surprises this is a must do!
2. Splash Mountain- This fun thrill ride is a staple of any Disney World vacation. Be prepared to get wet especially during the 52.5 feet drop!
3. Dumbo- Another timeless staple this high flying Dumbo ride completes all vacations for children 1 to 99.
4. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train- This is definitely one of my favorite rides of New Fantasyland. The mine cart rocks back and forth as you endeavor through the ups and downs and twists and turns of the mine. The perfect scening places you right into Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
5. Big Thunder Mountain- This thrill ride is really the perfect roller coaster for all ages! It's fast paced and bumpy, but I find that people of all ages tolerate the thrill and this is a go to for most.
6. Haunted Mansion- This ride has a huge following from disney fans of all ages. It's very spooky, but has a hint of comedy. This could be scary for younger kids, but most enjoy the company of the 999 ghosts that inhabit this ride.
7. It's A Small World- This colorful boat ride full of singing animatronics is definitely one that most people have a love hate relationship, but for nostalgia disney sake I feel like everyone should go on this ride at least once during each trip.
8. Buzz Lightyear- This interactive shooting game completely themed with neon Zurg, Aliens, and Buzz Lightyear is such a fun ride. I love the fact that you get to shoot the targets and it brings out everyone's competitive side trying to get the highest score. 
9. Barnstormer- This roller coaster  is kind of a wild card that is left out of a lot of must do ride lists, but I love this ride! It's short, but almost always has a short line and is a classic roller coaster that is fun for most ages, but it's all up to preference really. 
10. People Mover- Lastly, this ride is full of history and is a nice escape from the long lines. This one is especially fun to ride at night as Tommorowland is all lit up. This ride takes you into other attractions, including Space Mountain and is a favorite for many Disney fans.

The Disney Pin Tag

Hello Everyone,
Pin trading is a huge part of my Disney life and I figured what better way to get to know this side of me than The Disney Pin Tag. SarahSnitch created this tag on her YouTube channel and I first heard about it through That One Couple TV (my favorite Disney youtubers) and although they didn't explicitly tag me they tagged everyone, so I hope this is a good basis to do it on! I've added a few of my own questions and hope you all enjoy. So without further ado, here is a deep exploration of my favorite pins and my pin life.

1. Which is your oldest pin? My oldest pin according to when it was made is a dumbo pin that I traded for in Animal Kingdom. It's just the cutest pin and the cast member who traded it with made my trip, so magical, you could tell he loves his pins and that it was one from his collection. This pin was made in December 2000 and was part of a cast holiday set!

2. Which is your newest pin? My newest pin is a LE 1000, 101 Dalmatians piano pin that my mom got me for my birthday. It's one of my bigger pins and because I play piano it means that much more to me.

3. A pin featuring your favorite character? I have many favorite characters so I picked my top 4. The first one is a full body Tiana pin. It's a rack pin, but Tiana's story has always had a special place in my heart. The second one is a cute Aurora and Prince Phillip pin that I got for my birthday. Aurora has been my favorite princess for as long as I can remember and Phillip is one of my favorite princes. The third one is a Megara and Hercules pin. Within Megara's sass I certainly see myself and can relate with how she deals with love. Lastly, is one of my favorite pins. This pin features Jacques and Gus Gus and is probably my cutest pin, not to mention Gus Gus is my favorite sidekick!

 


4. A pin that has a funny story behind it?  I have many but one that is dear to my heart is a Tigger thermos pin that I had got to trade and ended up trading it on a Contemporary Resort pin board. Later my brother seemed to take an interest in pin trading, so I gave him one of my traders to use on that same pin board that I had traded on earlier, and lo and behold he picked my Tigger thermos cup. Like most things my brother had become disinterested with pin trading, and while changing hotels I found that my brother had left the pin on the table to just leave it. Not wanting to leave it, I grabbed it and still have it to this day!

5. Pin with the most sentimental value? I have two along with the ones that I have already mentioned. The first is my only Baloo pin and this means a lot to me because one of my favorite roles that I've played in my local theatre is Baloo. This pin always reminds me of the fun I had along with the recognition and awards I got for the role. The other is and Art of Animation Resort pin because that is the resort that I stayed in for my 17th birthday trip which was especially magical. 

7. The pin that took you the longest to find/get? I'm not a big completer of sets, normally the character is more important to me than a completed set. My first trip pin trading I got a cute Chip pin and even though I had not seen the set before I just knew that there must be a Dale to go with it. I didn't find the Dale pin on that trip, but on my birthday trip I did, and although it was only two trips and eight months it was so exhilarating to find it. 

8. How long have you been pin trading? I've only been pin trading for a year, which is approximately two Disney World trips. I'm so glad I discovered it before my trip last year. 

9. How many pins do you have? I can't believe it, but I sat here and counted all my pins and have a total of....Drum roll please....252 pins!

Hello again, 

I wanted you guys to be able to understand a little bit more of the person behind The Disney Necessities, so I decided to do the Disney Tag. I've taken these questions from some of the tags circulating around the disney-sphere and hope you enjoy!

1. What’s your favorite Disney movie? That's really hard of princess movies probably The Princess and the Frog or Sleeping Beauty, but of non-princess movies it's either Hercules or Alice in Wonderland. 

2. What disney character do you relate to the most? Belle 

3. Who is your favorite princess? Aurora or Tiana

4. Who is your favorite prince? Eric

5. Who is your favorite side kick? Gus Gus

6. Favorite villain? Hades

7.All time favorite disney soundtrack? All of them! but if I have to choose, Beauty and the Beast

8. Scene in disney film that makes you cry? The end of Beauty and the Beast

9. Who’s your least favorite disney character? The Evil Queen 

10. Which scene in a disney film makes you mad? Anytime Hades gets Meg to hurt Hercules

11. Have you ever been to a disney park? Yes Disney World

12. Disneyland or Disney World? Well I've only been to Disney World so Disney World

13. Do you prefer 2D animation or 3D animation? I don't really have a preference 

14. Favorite thing you own that is disney? My pin book full of pins and my cinderella crown

15. First disney film you watched? I think Sleeping Beauty but I don't know for sure

16. Last disney film you have currently watched? Beauty and the Beast

17. Is there a disney movie you have not seen? The nightmare before Christmas

18. Favorite disney quote from any disney film? "A dream is a wish your heart makes"- Cinderella

19. Which upcoming disney film are you most looking forward to see? Inside Out

You've Found The Disney Necessities

Welcome fellow Disney lovers, 

My name is Savanah and I absolutely love Disney! I've been to Disney World 3 times and will be going for the fourth time at the end of July. While planning our Disney World vacation last summer I found tons of great resources from blogs, websites, youtube, and Pinterest,  but always felt like there could be something more to this amazing Disney community. With this thought, The Disney Necessities was born! I hope to bring light to some of the lesser known gems in the parks to light as well as discuss some old favorites. I enjoy pin trading and all the prep that goes into planning a disney vacation, as well as riding the rides in Disney World and being immersed in the experience.
